One of the beautiful practices I inherited when I arrived here was that every day, between Mincha and Maariv, one Mishnah is studied. Slowly but steadily, we have made our way through many tractates of Mishnah, including some truly challenging ones. We have completed the entire order of Moed (and will, please God, do so soon in the Daf Yomi as well), dealing with the Jewish calendar, and this week, we completed the order of Nashim, dealing with laws of marriage, divorce and personal status. It was this order of Mishnah that accompanied us during the pandemic- I recall teaching Masechet Ketuvot over Zoom daily- and I pray that as we concluded Seder Nashim yesterday, the worst of the pandemic will soon be behind us. I invite everyone to add an easy Torah learning opportunity to your day; our daily Mishnah study rarely exceeds five minutes in duration. Join us as we learn a Mishnah a Day; beginning with Masechet Bava Kamma- dealing with Jewish tort law.
